This season we are delighted to again be working with Anna Gray of Cumbria Tourist Guides to offer the following tours.
Rides can be booked with us @ Electric Mountain – 07407 422798.
Discover the hidden treasures and damson delights of the Winster and Lyth Valleys.
We start at Bowness-on-Windermere (Glebe Road) for induction and cycling practice on electric bike. The bustle of Bowness is soon left behind as we enter the peace and serenity of the Winster Valley. Lunch is at the Mason’s Arms, before continuing to the remote church of St Anthony’s at Cartmel Fell. We then loop around Whitbarrow to enter the Lyth Valley and return via Crosthwaite and Gilpin Mill. Stunning views accompany our tour with some unexpected hidden delights along the way!
On this fabulous tour by electric bicycle we visit three places associated with Beatrix Potter – Wray Castle, the Beatrix Potter Gallery in Hawkshead, and Hill Top at Near Sawrey.
We start at Bowness-on-Windermere (Glebe Road) for induction and cycling practice on electric bikes. After crossing the lake by ferry, we travel along the western shore of Windermere (largely traffic-free) to Wray Castle for a tour of the house and gardens. From there we head to Hawkshead, enjoying stunning views along the way. After visiting the Beatrix Potter Gallery and lunch, we take the quieter road around Esthwaite Water to Hill Top. Here we beat the queues and have a mid-afternoon visit to Beatrix Potter’s much-loved home. From there it’s downhill wheeling back to the ferry landing and Bowness-on-Windermere.
